
New York Empire to Host Fan Appreciation Night at Season Finale on Thursday, August 2

NEW YORK - The New York Empire presented by Citi have designated their last match of the season on Thursday, August 2 against the Philadelphia Freedoms as Fan Appreciation Night. The match is meant to recognize and thank fans for their support of the New York Empire franchise during the 2018 season.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early to Court 17 of the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on Thursday evening. As a token of the Empire's appreciation, the first 500 patrons in attendance will receive a free New York Empire water bottle and wallet phone case.
The New York Empire have also announced a player substitution for the remainder of the season. Former junior prodigy Francoise Abanda will make her WTT debut on the road Wednesday night in Philadelphia and will also appear for the Empire in the home match on Thursday. Abanda, from Montreal, is a Fed Cup veteran with Team Canada and qualified for both the French Open and Wimbledon main draw in 2017, winning first-round matches at both Grand Slam events.
