
New York Empire & Empire BlueCross BlueShield HealthPlus to Host Tennis Tour Throughout NYC

NEW YORK - The New York Empire presented by Citi announced today a multi-year partnership with Empire BlueCross BlueShield HealthPlus, an Anthem, Inc. company, that will help spread the game of tennis to children of all socioeconomic backgrounds and skill levels. To promote exercise and encourage healthy behaviors, the New York Empire, New York City's only professional tennis team, and Empire BlueCross BlueShield HealthPlus will host four pop-up tennis youth clinics throughout New York City.
"We are incredibly thankful to Empire BlueCross BlueShield HealthPlus and excited for the opportunity to bring the great sport of tennis to so many kids in our community," said Michele Cope, General Manager of the New York Empire. "It's so important for kids of all backgrounds to be introduced to the game and be given the opportunity to learn and most importantly, to have fun out on the courts."
Empire BlueCross BlueShield, a sponsor for the 2018 New York Empire season, will host four youth clinics throughout New York City at Highland Park in Brooklyn, Cunningham Tennis Club in Queens, Corona Park in Flushing Meadows and USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows between July 15 - August 2. Each free clinic, which will include up to 100 children from different youth organizations, will be led by tennis professionals and each participant will receive a racquet and giveaways.

Empire BlueCross BlueShield joins a robust lineup of sponsors for the New York Empire season, to be held July 15 - August 2 with home matches taking place on Court 17 of the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
Tickets start as low as $10 for children ages 16-and-under and $25 for adults. The New York Empire offers both reserved box seats and general admission seating, along with hospitality packages, which include food and beverage service and the opportunity to meet the team. The unique experience is an evening featuring specialty food, music and non-stop action on Court 17.
