Chattanooga Locomotion News Release
Pro Player Sports, which operates the Chattanooga Locomotion Women's Professional Football Team and the Chattanooga Steam Men's Minor League Professional Football Team, is proud to announce their partnership with the Howard School of Academics and Technology for the 2005 season. The Locomotion and the Steam will be playing their home games at the Howard Stadium beginning with the Locomotion opener on April 23 at 7:00PM against the Nashville Dream.
Ken Hall, co-owner of the two teams, said, "Moving the teams downtown will help increase our attendance by drawing from the tourist base that is in that area. We are excited to be able to partner with Howard High School athletics and help in the development of future players for both our women's and men's football teams."
The Locomotion will play four regular season games at the Howard Stadium on April 23, May 14, May 28 and June 4. The team is hoping to schedule one pre-season game prior to the April 23 start of the season. The Locomotion has been undefeated for the past two regular seasons and has won the Southern Division of the National Women's Football Association for the last two years.
The Steam's season will begin July 23 and consist of five home games. The schedule for the Steam will be released in March. The Steam has joined the Southeastern American Football League which operates in Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina for the 2005 season and the team is 10-2-8 overall in their past two seasons.
The Steam will be holding tryouts for their third season of play this Sunday at 2:00 PM at the practice field adjacent to Brown Middle School on Highway 58.
