SAVANNAH, Ga. - Work on the new video scoreboard at Historic Grayson Stadium will begin Thursday, March 15. The first step in the installation will be removing the top of the right-centerfield wall to make room for the scoreboard, which will be larger than the current scoreboard. The wall will also be moved to create an even surface for the base of the scoreboard.
The scoreboard was built offsite by Texas Star Sports and will feature a nearly 300 square foot video board, digital temperature and pitch speed and an analog clock. A new manually operated scoreboard on the leftfield wall will show the line score
The removal of the old scoreboard and installation of the new one is scheduled to take approximately two weeks. The installation crew will arrive at 9 a.m. Thursday morning. The Sand Gnats front office staff can provide media personnel with more information regarding Thursday's construction schedule once the crew arrives.
The Sand Gnats open the season on April 5 at home with a 7:05 Thirsty Thursday game against the Asheville Tourists. Tickets and a complete schedule are available at www.sandgnats.com.
