San Diego Spirit News Release
SAN DIEGO - The Official Website of the San Diego Spirit, sandiegospirit.com, has a brand new look on the Internet super-highway. The club's redesigned website is enhanced with many new features and easier access to team information, giving Spirit supporters new and in-depth ways to follow the latest events of San Diego's women's professional soccer team.
The new website, designed by TEAMtalk, Inc., promises to bring fans up-to-date information regarding all Spirit matches and events. The TEAMtalk-developed publishing tool, called One-Touch, will allow the Spirit staff to add information to the website much more quickly. As a result, press releases will be updated immediately, and photos will be uploaded within hours after a game.
Spirit fans can expect the new site to deliver everything about their favorite WUSA club. From the website, fans can access player and coaches profiles, updated rosters, statistics, staff information, fun player features, real-time scoring, trivia games, streaming video and audio, and participate in interactive polls. The redesigned website presents fans with a new user-friendly homepage, the traditional newspaper style, which makes navigating through the site easy. The press room will also offer fans the latest news, previews and features about the team, with photos from the most recent games. For those rising Spirit stars, information regarding Spirit summer camps will be available. Fans will also be able to join the revised U.S. Bank Spirit Fan Club, subscribe to the Spirit newsletter and ask players questions online.
"Having a strong website is vital to the success of any professional sports team," said director of marketing Paige Jackson. "In 2002, we have put our best efforts toward improving the site and with the expertise and resources of TEAMtalk behind us, we have accomplished that goal. The site is user friendly and allows fans to feel even more connected with the team."
TEAMtalk re-launched the WUSA's official league website, as well as three other WUSA teams, Carolina, New York and Philadelphia, for the 2002 season. Atlanta and Washington will continue their existing relationships with TEAMtalk.
"We are very excited to take this next step in our growing relationship with the WUSA," said TEAMtalk senior vice president of business development Jennifer Rottenberg. "We believe in this league and the sports of women's soccer, and we appreciate the belief the WUSA has in our capabilities."
