New Michigan Warriors Management Team Lowers Ticket Prices

Michigan Warriors News Release

Flint, MI - The new Michigan Warriors management team today announced lower-priced season ticket packages designed to make the Warriors' high-paced, family friendly brand of hockey more accessible to Mid Michigan residents. The announcement is the first step in a plan to better integrate the team with the Flint area hockey community and to improve the fan experience.

"Mid Michigan families deserve a high quality hockey experience at a premier venue, and we are committed to growing what the Warriors have started," said Jeremy Torrey, director of sales and marketing for the Michigan Warriors and Perani Arena. "We lowered ticket prices so more hockey fans can see and appreciate the skills and effort these young men exhibit on the ice as they work toward college scholarships. We think seeing the stars of tomorrow on the ice in Flint for a just a few dollars a game is a great value for the community."

Firland Management, an experienced operator of ice venues and NAHL and other junior hockey teams, assumed management of the Michigan Warriors earlier this year, under an agreement that keeps the Warriors in Flint at least through the 2013-14 season. Firland Management began operating Perani Arena and Event Center in 2010. Since then, the company has overseen nearly $1 million in renovations to improve the fan experience at Warriors games and other events.

Through June 30, 2012 full-season (30-game) Michigan Warriors ticket packages are available for just $98 per seat for adults, or $84 per seat for seniors, students and children. To place a season tickets order, please visit the Perani Arena and Event Center Box Office, call (810) 744-0580 or visit http://www.mywarriors.co.

This season, all seats are available on an individual game basis for just $7 per game. Premium seats last season were available for $8 per game. At the single game price of $7, each $98 season ticket package includes the value of 16 free games of NAHL hockey.

From July 1 to August 31, season tickets will increase to $126 per seat. After September 1, full-season packages will be available for $154 per seat.

In addition to making season tickets more accessible for Flint area hockey fans, the Warriors have restructured team sponsorship opportunities to enable customization of packages for individual businesses. For sponsorship information, contact Jeremy Torrey at (810) 744-0580 or jeremy@peraniarena.com. Moe Mantha will return in the fall as the team's head coach. Mantha patrolled the blue line as a defenseman for five teams over 12 NHL seasons and was the assistant captain of the 1992 U.S. Olympic Hockey Team. He has coached and managed at the junior and professional levels for 15 years, including coaching the USA Hockey National Team Development Program, and is active in the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association.

"I look for players with fire in their bellies and who have the raw ability college scouts want to recruit," Mantha said. "These young men know they have to work their tails off in the weight room, on the ice and in class to earn a D-1 scholarship and continue their hockey careers. The fans who have seen us play over the past two seasons know we put on a great show."

The Michigan Warriors will host the first of two open tryout camps Friday, June 15 to Sunday, June17, 2012 at Iceland Arena in Flint. The team looks to round out its 2012-13 season roster by adding a few new talented players, including both defenseman and forwards. A second open tryout camp will be held at Iceland July 13 to 15, 2012. Advance registration for both camps is required. To register, or for additional information, visit http://www.mywarriors.co.

The newest Michigan Warriors players will join a team just one year removed from a run to the NAHL Robertson Cup Finals. The team will open its 2012-13 season in September.

Warriors alumni who will play for NCAA Division I programs this fall include forward Justin Hoomaian (Michigan State University), defenseman Michael Szuma (University of Michigan), goaltender Robert Tadazak (Army), defenseman Ryan Trenz (Northern Michigan University) and defenseman A.J. White (UMass Lowell). A number of additional players have committed to other college hockey programs.
