Amarillo Venom News Release
Amarillo, TX 06/04/12 : The Amarillo Venom welcomes kicker, Jason Cunningham to the Amarillo Venom. Cunningham is an Amarillo Native; he attended Tascosa High School and Montana State before being invited out to the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs recently released Cunningham and has since returned to his home town to play for the Venom.
Cunningham attended and played at Montana State for his college career. However, he accomplished a lot more than just a degree. Cunningham earned the first team All American honors by scoring 20-24 field goals and a program record of 102 points while attending Montana State. He also broke his own single-season record by nailing 113 points. These points included eight field goals from 45 yards or longer. Cunningham is also known for nailing not two but three field goals from 55 yards.
Cunningham hoped to join the Kansas City Chiefs roster, but was recently released from Kansas City. Venom contacted Cunningham to see if he would be interested in finishing out the season with them and he was more than happy to accept.
Owner Stephanie Tucker stated, "The Venom are very happy to have another NFL prospect on the team and look forward to seeing what Cunningham can do for our kicking game. We recently improved our offensive game with Nate Davis and expect to see the same positive results out of Cunningham."
Venom is happy to have Cunningham and looks forward to assisting him with his career. Come out to the Venom game this Saturday June, 9th and see Cunningham make his Venom debut.
