Hoffman Estates, Ill. (October 21,006) - Brett Vickers, President of Chicagoland Sports LLC, announced today that the newest Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) team will be established in Chicago. The expansion team (yet to be named) will play all six home games at the new Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates.

The Continental Indoor Football League is a professional developmental indoor football league designed to deliver fast-paced action-packed football. The Chicago franchise will debut in March 2007 and will join the league in its second year. The first season was played under the "Great Lakes Indoor Football League" moniker, and it was a resounding success, with over 75,000 fans watching GLIFL games in 2006.

The CIFL has created a unique style of indoor football. The 7-on-7 concept was designed to allow fans to experience the wide open feeling of 50-yard indoor football while seeing defenses have the opportunity to make plays. The CIFL was created to give players the opportunity to play professional football. For some players, it will be a dream come true to step on the field and play. The league also works diligently to get those players promoted to higher leagues (AFL, CFL, NFL-Europe, NFL). Players moving on to higher leagues (like WR/LB L.J. Parker) will improve the overall talent pool in the CIFL.

The CIFL also strives to provide families the opportunity to enjoy professional football at a professional level without professional prices. CIFL tickets average about $12, showing a commitment to an affordable and exciting football product.

"Bringing Chicagoland Sports and the Sears Centre into the CIFL is the perfect finish for expansion for the 2007 season. Not only is this a beautiful city and arena, but the Chicago area is rich in football tradition. This will be a great fit in the CIFL," said Eric Spitaleri, CIFL co-founder of the decision to add Chicago to the league. Chicagoland Sports, LLC is committed to bringing professional sports to the northwest suburbs. In addition to the CIFL team, Chicagoland Sports is also the parent company of the United Hockey League's Chicago Hounds. Brett Vickers credits the Sears Centre with creating a premier venue for both athletes and spectators.

"The primary reason we have decided to bring teams to Chicagoland is this venue and the amazing affinity Chicagoans show for their sporting teams," said Vickers on the expansion. "We have a motivated staff and we are looking forward to bringing great football to Chicago. We are committed to bringing a winning season and entertainment with our CIFL team."

The Sears Centre will be home to CIFL football. It is an 11,000-seat state of the art multi-purpose family entertainment, sports and cultural center under construction in Hoffman Estates' Prairie Stone Business Park. Located right at I-90 and Route 59, it will host more than 135 events each year, and is projected to attract more than 750,000 annual visitors.
