New Hockey Team Owner To Name General Manager, Announce Team Name
June 6, 2011 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Bloomington Blaze News Release
The owner of a new hockey franchise that's coming to Bloomington says June will be a busy planning month. Gary DelBuono is planning to travel to Bloomington within the next few weeks. The investor and his business partner are from the East Coast. DelBuono said he's considering opening up minority ownership opportunities for local residents.
"I think a great program needs to have a lot of local involvement so we're very open to that as well... Minor league sports work well when you have local involvement."
DelBuono said his first task is hiring a general manager and selecting a team name. He said he'll be communicating with Bloomington PrairieThunder owner Tim Leighton and consider his recommendations as well.
