Saint John Riptide News Release
Saint John enlisted the services of two former Vermont Frost Heaves, both 2010 Premier Basketball League All Stars, and they helped the Mill Rats beat the Quebec Kebs 108-82 before an animated crowd of 2,730 at Harbour Station.
Point Guard Dwuan Rice contributed 12 points and 6 assists, while power forward Ross Demasi added 14 points and 6 rebounds off the bench. Anthony Anderson led both teams in scoring with 24 and 9 assists on a 9-10 shooting from the floor. Last week's PBL Player of the Week, Quinnell Brown, scored 23 points for Quebec.
The first quarter was nip and tuck with Saint John maintaining a narrow 27-25 lead. By halftime that lead had been extended to 56-50. In the third quarter the Mill Rats broke the game open into double digit territory and leading by as many as 18. Quebec never threatened the rest of the way. With the win the Mill Rats improve to 3-4 on the season and the Kebs fall to 6-3.
As a reminder tomorrow night's originally scheduled game has been re-scheduled for Friday February 11th at 7:00pm against the Halifax Rainmen.
