New Addition Diggs Lifts Mill Rats to Victory

On a cold winter day with ice and snow on the roads, 3,181 brave Mill Rats fans were treated to some exciting basketball with a scorching win against the Rochester RazorSharks, 100-91.
After taking double digit lead in the first quarter behind great guard play by backcourt mates Anthony Anderson and Eric Gilchrese, the Mill Rats managed to maintain a narrow 52-49 halftime lead.
However it was the new addition to the team from George Washingon University, Rob Diggs, whose plays made the difference in keeping Rochester at bay in the second half.
Anthony Anderson led the Mill Rats with 24 points, followed by Rob Diggs wih 23 points and 9 rebounds, and Terry Martin with 18 points. Jerice Crouch led the RazorSharks scoring with 20 points. The win improves Saint John's record to 2-3.
The Mill Rats travel next to play the Halifax Rainmen at the Metro Centre on January 29th.
