
Neuvirth named OHL Player of the Week

Toronto - The Ontario Hockey League today announced that goaltender Michal Neuvirth of the Plymouth Whalers is the OHL Player of the Week for the week ending April 22, 2007. Neuvirth stopped 65 of 67 shots posting a 1.00 goals against average and a .970 save percentage leading the Whalers to back-to-back playoff victories over the London Knights.
The 19-year-old recorded 29 saves on Friday, April 20, 2007 in the opening game of the Rogers Western Conference Championship Series, which was held in London. Plymouth defeated London 5-1. The following night, Neuvirth made 36 saves in a 5-1 win on home ice. The Whalers are leading the Knights in the best-of-seven series 2-0.
