
NBLC Announces Playoff Format for the 2020 Postseason

The National Basketball League of Canada (NBLC) formally announces the playoff format for the upcoming 2020 NBLC postseason.
The NBLC restructured the playoff format to ensure competitive games throughout the season, motivating teams and players to perform at an elite level throughout the season and to enhance the excitement for fans.
"We pride ourselves as a league on our ability to make changes for the benefit of our fans and we believe that restructuring our playoff format will increase the level of competition and interest while creating a whole new element of excitement", said Deputy Commissioner, Audley Stephenson.
The 2020 NBLC playoff format is as follows:
- Top two Ontario-based and top two Maritimes/Newfoundland & Labrador teams will make the playoffs
- First round of the interdivision series will be a best out of 5 contest (2-2-1 format)
- The 2020 NBLC Finals will be a best out of 7 contest (2-2-1-1-1 format)
The 2020 NBLC postseason will begin in late April.
