Cape Breton Highlanders

The Highlanders finished their season with two victories, and finished the season as the #3 seed in the Maritimes bracket for their first playoff run ever. Olu Famutimi finished as the top scorer for the Highlanders, with 24.5 ppg, while Jamal Reynolds had a double-double of 22.5 ppg and 11 rebounds per game.

Halifax Hurricanes

The Halifax Hurricanes punched their ticket for their fourth consecutive postseason run, and thanks to 23 points from Terry Thomas and 20 from Malcolm Duvivier in the Hurricanes' last game, a 124-97 win over the Island Storm, Halifax has a chance to reach the finals one more time.

Island Storm

With the Storm winning only one of their final three contests, the Charlottetown crew are out of the NBL playoffs for the first time since the 2011-12 season. Despite the disappointment, Guillaume Boucard finished strong with a 23.0 ppg average, while Tyree White almost averaged a triple-double (18.3 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 10.0 assists).

KW Titans

Head Coach: Cavell Johnson Home arena: Kitchener Memorial Auditorium

After missing the postseason last year, the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans returned to the playoffs with a 122-99 win over the Sudbury Five. The win was punctuated with 26 points and 13 rebounds from Akeem Ellis, while Damon Lynn followed up with 21 points of his own.

London Lightning

For the eighth consecutive season, the London Lightning finished the year with a winning record (22-18), earned this season with two late-season victories over the Windsor Express. The victories were strengthened by 20 ppg from AJ Gaines, while Garrett Williamson added 19 and Marcus Capers earned 18. Kevin Ware averaged 9.0 rebounds in the London wins.

Moncton Magic

Saint John Riptide

The Riptide made the playoffs this year, despite losing their final two games of the season. The Port City crew will see April basketball thanks to a 25.0 ppg average from Darnell Landon, while TJ Maston scored 22 points in his one game with Saint John (he rested on Sunday's contest).

St. John's Edge

Sudbury Five

Despite Sudbury losing to Kitchener-Waterloo this week AND falling to the #3 seed in the playoffs, the Five were brightened by Braylon Rayson's record-setting 149th 3-point basket. The

Five also became the first team to garner more than 500 3- pointers in a season, finishing with 511.

Windsor Express

For the first time in the Express' seven-year history, the Motor City crew's season ends without a playoff visit. Despite all this, Windsor finished the season as strong as possible, thanks to a 25.0 ppg average from Chris Jones, along with 22.0 from Juwan Howard Jr., an effort that would make his father proud.

NBL CANADA PLAYER OF THE WEEK

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Marcus Capers of the London Lightning has been named Player of the Week for the week ending March 31, 2019.

Capers, a 6'4" guard who played collegiately at Washington State, averaged 22.5 points and 11.0 rebounds in the Lightning's two victories, ensuring London its eighth consecutive winning season, the longest stretch in NBL Canada history.

NBL CANADA CANADIAN PLAYER OF THE WEEK

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Jamal Reynolds of the Cape Breton Highlanders has been named Canadian Player of the Week for the week ending March 31, 2019. This is the second time this season that Reynolds has earned this honour.

Reynolds, a 6'4" guard who played collegiately at Canisius (N.Y.), averaged 22.5 points and 11.0 rebounds in the Highlanders' two victories, which allowed Cape Breton to advance to the postseason for the first time in the franchise's three-year history.

NBL CANADA COACH OF THE MONTH

The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to announce that Joe Salerno of the Moncton Magic has been named Coach of the Month for March 2019. This is the second time this season that Salerno has earned Coach of the Month honours.

Salerno's Magic completed a 7-3 record in March, and garnered the Magic the #1 overall seed in the NBL Canada playoffs, and with that, home-court advantage in the Avenir Centre throughout the postseason.
