NBL Canada Releases Complete Protected Lists
May 12, 2014 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada) News Release
(TORONTO, ON): The National Basketball League of Canada is pleased to release the complete protected lists as submitted by the teams. The protected list is a mechanism to give teams an advantage to retain players.
Teams may sign their own protected players at any time. Any unsigned protected players as of September 21 are then deemed restricted free agents and are eligible to receive contract offers from rival teams. The players' original teams hold matching rights to retain the restricted free agents until the end of the 2014-15 season.
