Player Highlights

Wednesday (7-6-05) Highlights From the 2005 Reebok Vegas Summer League

-Former Florida Flame center Hiram Fuller scored 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds in 24 minutes for the Wizards.

-Darius Rice, another Flame product, had 12 points and two boards in 12 minutes for the Mavericks.

-Ron Slay scored 11 points in 18 minutes for the Suns. Last season, Slay was the leading scorer (17.1) and rebounder (6.3) for Asheville, which has relocated to Tulsa for next season.

-2005 D-League Defensive Player of the Year Derrick Zimmerman had three steals and seven points in 19 minutes for the Nets. Zimmerman played in Columbus last season, and that team has relocated to Austin.

In Action Today at the Reebok Vegas Summer League

-2005 D-League Rookie of the year James Thomas (Roanoke) is in action for the Cavaliers against the Hornets. Thomas is joined on the Cavs summer league team by former D-Leaguers Ime Udoka (Charleston, now Florida), Carl English (Florida) and Bryan Bracey (Huntsville, now Albuquerque).

-Former Fayetteville Patriot Ruben Boumtje Boumtje and first-team All-NBDL selection Isiah Victor (Roanoke) play for the Magic against the Knicks.

-Former Fayetteville forward Tang Hamilton, along with former Charleston (now Florida) players Chuck Eidson and Alpha Bangura are in action for the Clippers against the Celtics.
