April 19, 2005 - NBA G League (G League) News Release

WORST TO FIRST: Columbus is the only NBDL team to go from last place in one season (2003-04) to winning the regular season title the next year.

BEFORE THE LEAGUE: Of the 22 former D-Leaguers currently on NBA rosters, eight of them played in the NBDL postseason before moving on to the League. New Jersey Nets guard Billy Thomas was a key cog for the Greenville Groove team that won the inaugural NBDL Championship.

ALUMNI UPDATE...from Monday in the NBA
· Six former NBDL players and four former officials suited up for eight NBA games.
· Mikki Moore (Roanoke) scored 14, had 5 rebounds and 3 assists in 34 minutes for the Clippers.

NBDL QUIZ: What team holds the record for points scored in an NBDL Championship final?

WHERE'S RUSTY? At this time last season Rusty LaRue was helping Asheville win an NBDL title. Fast forward one year and LaRue has just finished his first season as head coach at Greensboro (N.C.) College, where the Pride posted a 10-15 record.

WHAT A BARGAIN: All kids 12 and under are eligible for a $5 ticket at the Columbus Civic Center box office. In addition, fans who wear orange apparel to the game will earn a $2 discount off the price of any ticket bought at the Civic Center box office.
