QUOTE OF THE DAY: "I'm hoping this is my last bus trip right here. Believe me, I want to be riding in those airplanes next season."...Roanoke forward and NBDL leading scorer Isiah Victor told the Roanoke Times before boarding for a seven-hour trip to Columbus for the semi-final round of the NBDL Championship Tournament.
CONCEDING ALREADY? Only a loss at Columbus on Saturday keeps Isiah Victor off the bus again. A victory over the Riverdragons would put him and his Dazzle teammates back on the motor coach for the championship game at either Asheville or Huntsville next week.
WHO'S HOT? The Huntsville Flight has won eight of their last 10 games.
WHO'S NOT? The Roanoke Dazzle has lost eight of the last 10 games.
EXPERIENCE PLUS: If NBDL postseason experience alone were the deciding factor, then go ahead and pencil the Huntsville Flight in as this year's champions. Coach Ralph Lewis' team has four players with NBDL postseason experience (Rodney Bias, Earl Barron, Cedric Henderson and Jason Miskiri). Lenny Stokes is the only Asheville player. Columbus and Roanoke have none.
CASE IN POINT(S): The Roanoke Dazzle set the NBDL team single-season record for points scored with 4,950 this year. The Florida Flame established a new record for points allowed in a season by giving up 4,862.
NBDL QUIZ: Former NBDL officials Olandis Poole, Zach Zarba and Robbie Robinson worked in each of the three NBA games played Thursday night. How many referees have been called up from the D-League since November 2001?
