CLINCH POSSIBLE: The Columbus Riverdragons can clinch the regular season championship and the top seed in the NBDL postseason with a victory at Asheville tonight. It would be the Riverdragons first title.
BAGGING A TROPHY: Matt Carroll was presented his 2005 NBA Development League MVP hardware in a pre-game ceremony prior to the Bobcats-Clippers game Tuesday night in Charlotte. Carroll was signed by the Bobcats in February 23 after playing most of the season with the Roanoke Dazzle.
NBDL ALUMNI UPDATE...from Tuesday in the NBA
· There were 12 former NBDL players suited up in 12 NBA games.
· There were 5 former NBDL officials calling NBA games.
· Chris Andersen (Fayetteville) scored 12, had 8 rebounds and 6 blocks
for the Hornets.
· Anthony Johnson (Mobile) played 33 minutes, scored 13 and had 4
assists for the Pacers.
BETTER AT HOME: With seven games left in the regular season, home teams are winning at a record pace. NBDL home teams have posted a .577 winning percentage (79-58). The previous high was .570 (114-86) in 2002-03.
SICK DAY: Fayetteville guard David Young, the second-leading scorer in the league, missed Tuesday's game at Huntsville battling a bout of food poisoning.
TODAY IN NBDL HISTORY
· Greenville beat Columbus and North Charleston beat Mobile to advance
to the 2002 NBDL Finals.
· Neil Edwards blocked 6 shots as N. Charleston beat Mobile, 80-78, in
2002 postseason semi-finals.
· In 2004 Asheville, Huntsville and Charleston had clinched postseason
berths, Asheville a host site.
THIS WEEK IN THE NBDL, the D-League's live weekly magazine-style show, airs Thursday at 9 p.m. ET on NBA TV. The show will re-air Friday at 12:30 a.m. ET and 2:30 p.m. ET, as well as Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET.
GOW: The NBDL Game of the Week show airs Thursday at 4:30 p.m. ET and again Sunday at 12:30 p.m. ET. The featured game this week is Columbus and Asheville from March 25.
