STRETCH RUN: There are just eight games left to play in the NBDL regular season.
THANKS FOR COMING: Florida and Roanoke have finished the home portion of their regular season. The Dazzle is hanging on to a chance to host a semi-final postseason game by one-half game over Asheville and Huntsville.
ADVANTAGE ALTITUDE? Still alive to host a postseason first round game, Asheville closes the season with three consecutive home games. The Altitude is 14-7 at the Asheville Civic Center.
RECIPROCATING PROCESS: There were 11 players with NBA playing experience playing in three NBDL games and seven former D-Leaguers suited up to play in five NBA games on Saturday.
NBDL ALUMNI UPDATE...from Saturday's NBA games
· NBDL MVP Matt Carroll (Roanoke) scored 20 and had 4 rebounds in 27
minutes for the Bobcats.
· Chris Andersen (Fayetteville) scored 13 and had 6 rebounds in 25
minutes for the Hornets.
· Jason Hart (Asheville) played 25 minutes, scoring 13 and dishing out
6 assists for the Bobcats.
BANG AND BOWERS: Asheville's Timmy Bowers and Roanoke's Sung-Yoon Bang both notched NBDL career-best scoring nights Saturday at the Asheville Civic Center. Bowers converted 13-of-20 FGA to score 32, while Bang was true on 11-of-18 to score 30.
BATTLE OF THE BOARDS: The season-long battle for rebounding superiority between Roanoke's James Thomas and Huntsville's Rodney Bias tightened even more on Saturday. With Thomas getting 12 at Asheville, he is averaging 13.3 per game. Bias collected 17 at Columbus to raise his per game clip to 13.0.
OTHER TOP SATURDAY PERFORMERS
· Fayetteville G David Young scored 26, had 7 rebounds and 5 assists.
· Columbus G Derrick Zimmerman scored 17 (7-11 FGA) and had 3 steals.
· Florida G Smush Parker scored 17 and passed out 12 assists.
· Ron Slay had 14 points and 10 boards for Asheville.
NO VICTOR(Y): Isiah Victor, the league's leading scorer and an All-NBDL selection, missed his seventh consecutive game with a hand injury on Saturday. With Victor out the Dazzle is 2-5.
