SLAY RIDE: Asheville forward Ron Slay poured in 38 points at Huntsville Friday night to record the single-game scoring high in the NBDL this season. He bested his teammate Leonard Stokes, who pumped in 36 at Roanoke on January 29.
YEAH, BUT WHAT ELSE CAN HE DO? To compliment his scoring outburst on Friday, Slay also grabbed 12 rebounds, had a pair of assists and blocked a shot.
CURRYING FAVOR: Ramel Curry has boldly announced his presence as the newest member of the Columbus Riverdragons. Joining the team just prior to Wednesday's game at Florida, Curry has scored 18 points in each of his first two games with the club, converting 17-of-30 field goal attempts (.567).
OTHER TOP PERFORMANCES ON FRIDAY
· Huntsville F Cedric Henderson scored 25 points in the Flight's
victory over Asheville.
· Flight G Jason Miskiri scored 23 and dished out 10 assists against
the Altitude.
· Huntsville F Damone Brown scored 24 in the Flight's victory.
· Huntsville C Earl Barron recorded a double-double with 12 points and
13 rebounds.
· Florida inside man Hiram Fuller had another double-double with 19
points and 11 boards.
CARROLL EARNS PLAYER OF MONTH HONORS: Roanoke guard Matt Carroll was named NBDL player of the month for games played in January. Carroll, the NBDL's leading scorer (19.4), averaged 22.3 points and converted 48.9-percent from the field (88-of-180) over 11 games. He helped lead the Dazzle to a 7-4 record in the month.

ALUMNI CHECK: Former D-Leaguers continue to make their presence felt in the
NBA. Following are the highlights from last night's NBA games:
· Pacers G Anthony Johnson (Mobile) hit 7-of-7 FGA and scored 21 points
in 31 minutes.
· Clippers F Bobby Simmons (Mobile) had 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5
assists.
· Bobcats G Jason Hart (Asheville) hit 6-of-8 from the field and scored
14 off the bench.
FLAME ON THE TUBE: The next two NBDL "Game of the Week" shows on NBA TV feature the league's newest member, the Florida Flame. The Jan. 29 Florida at Fayetteville game will be aired Feb. 10, while Feb. 4 Columbus at Florida game will be aired Feb. 17, both at 3:30 p.m. ET
TWIN: A brand new episode of "This Week in the NBDL" airs Thursday at 9 p.m. ET on NBA TV.
SHINING BRIGHT: Three of the top four scorers in the NBDL play for the Roanoke Dazzle, as well as James Thomas, the league's top rebounder at 13.6 pg. Matt Carroll averages 19.4 ppg to lead the league, Isiah Victor is second at 18.3 and Terrence Shannon fourth at 16.6.
QUIZ ANSWER: Desmond Penigar averaged 19.6 points per game for Asheville last season.
