January 10, 2005 - NBA G League (G League) News Release

SIPPIN' THE GATORADE: James Thomas was sippin' the GATORADE at Madison Square Garden on Sunday against the Knicks after signing a 10-day contract with the Portland Trail Blazers. The leading rebounder in the NBDL, Thomas is the second GATORADE Call-up this season and the 41st overall since November 2001.

THIRD DAZZLE PLAYER: James Thomas is the third Roanoke Dazzle player to earn a GATORADE Call-up. Mikki Moore was called up five times over the previous two seasons and Matt Carroll signed with the San Antonio Spurs out of Roanoke last year.

TIME SPENT: Fayetteville guard Omar Cook has moved into first place on the NBDL all-time lists for games and minutes played in a career. Cook has logged 3,880 minutes through 127 D-League games.

SIX DAYS UNTIL SHOWCASE: The MLK Showcase, featuring every NBDL team in six games over two days, begins Sunday at the Columbus (Ga.) Civic Center. The schedule follows:

PARTNERING UP: The NBDL and the Columbus Riverdragons are partnering with the MLK Jr. National Memorial Foundation to promote and accept donations during the Showcase. The NBDL will also donate a portion of the Showcase ticket proceeds to the Foundation.

NBDL QUIZ: Huntsville forward Rodney Bias set the NBDL single season record for rebounds per game at 10.1 last season. Who holds the record for most total rebounds in an NBDL season?
