NBA Playoffs forces rescheduling of Next Fury Home Game

Auburn Hills, Mich. - The Detroit Fury of the Arena Football League announced today that they have changed the game previously scheduled for Sunday, May 4 at 3:00 p.m. against the Buffalo Destroyers, to Thursday, May 1 at 7:30 p.m. All tickets issued for the May 4th game will be honored at The Palace on May 1.

The Fury made the change in order to accommodate a possible Game 7 match-up between the Detroit Pistons and Orlando Magic, or, should the Pistons advance, Game 1 of the NBA Playoffs second round, which would also be at The Palace.

The Fury will return from this Sunday's game in Las Vegas on Monday and face a quick turnaround, having to play Buffalo just three days later.

"Obviously, from a football standpoint, the short turnaround won't help us," said Fury Senior Vice President Greg Myford. "But when the AFL schedule is put together, we can't predict with certainty the Pistons home playoff dates. We can, however, eliminate the current guessing and give our ticket holders maximum notice of a change. That's what we're doing. Let's hope we're both scheduling games in late May as well."

The Fury (6-6, 1-2) are currently in second place in the Eastern Division and travel to Las Vegas, to face the Eastern Division leading Gladiators (6-6, 2-0) on Sunday, April 27 at 6:00 p.m. ET. The Fury have three remaining home games (May 11 and May 16), and tickets for the Fury can be purchased by calling (248) 377-0100 or logging on to www.detroitfury.com.
