DAKOTA ¬â¢S CHRIS JOHNSON SIGNS WITH PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS
The Portland Trail Blazers signed center Chris Johnson of the Dakota Wizards for the fourth GATORADE Call-Up of the 2010-11 NBA Development League season. Johnson ¬â¢s call-up increases the number of current NBA players with NBA D-League experience, including players currently on assignment to their NBA D-League affiliates, to 82. In 27 games (all starts) with Dakota this season, Johnson averaged 17.2 points, 9.7 rebounds and 3.1 blocks, which ranks second in the league. Johnson ¬â¢s 83 total blocks leads the league, and Johnson is the only player this season to record eight blocks in three separate games. Johnson has scored in double figures in all but three of his games this season, and is coming off a 34-point, 14-rebound performance against Rio Grande Valley on Saturday. Johnson (6-11, 210) is a second-year pro out of LSU, where he averaged 7.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in 88 games over a four-year career. As a senior in 2008-09, Johnson ¬â¢s 2.7 blocks per game ranked second in the SEC and eighth in the nation, earning him All-SEC Honorable Mention honors.
IOWA ¬â¢S CURTIS STINSON NAMED NBA DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE PERFORMER OF THE WEEK
Curtis Stinson of the Iowa Energy was today named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played during the week of Jan. 17. Stinson, a 6-3, 215-pound guard out of Iowa State who played in the 2010 NBA Summer League with the Orlando Magic and Toronto Raptors, led the Energy to a 2-0 record on the week, averaging 25.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 9.0 assists and 3.5 steals.
In Iowa ¬â¢s 100-98 victory over Reno on Saturday, Stinson recorded 22 points, six rebounds, nine assists and five steals. On Sunday, Stinson scored a team-high 29 points to go along with five rebounds and nine assists, leading the Energy to a 107-102 win over the Bighorns to complete the weekend sweep.

v DeShawn Sims scored 19 points and Jamar Smith added 17 points as Maine snapped a five-game losing streak with a win over Texas. Joe Alexander had 16 points and 13 rebounds for the Legends.
