SAN ANTONIO'S HAIRSTON RE-ASSIGNED TO AUSTIN TOROS

San Antonio Spurs forward Malik Hairston has been assigned to the Austin Toros, the Spurs NBA D-League affiliate. Hairston, who was previously assigned to the Toros from Dec. 26, 2008 to Jan. 31, 2009, marks the 37th assignment of the 2008-09 NBA D-League season.

Hairston has appeared in 15 games for the Spurs this season following his GATORADE Call-Up to the team on Dec. 22, averaging 3.3 points and 1.9 rebounds in 10.3 minutes.

Originally selected in the second round (48th overall) of the 2008 NBA Draft by the Phoenix Suns, Hairston was traded to San Antonio, where he spent 2008 training camp before being waived by the Spurs on Oct. 26 and joining the Toros.

In his previous stints with the Toros, Hairston averaged 21.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 23 games. He scored in double figures 22 times, including notching a Toros season-high and an individual career-high 43 points against the Colorado 14ers on Jan. 11. He earned NBA D-League Performer of the Week honors for games played during the Week of Dec. 15.

ALUMNI ACHIEVEMENTS: A look at D-League Alumni in last night's NBA games:

27 players with D-League experience competed in 11 NBA games last night, five as starters.

Los Angeles Clippers' guard Mike Taylor recorded a career high 35 points to go with eight rebounds in a 140-135 OT win against the New York Knicks.

Matt Barnes finished with 21 points, nine rebounds and five assists for the Phoenix Suns. Teammate Louis Amundson added 10 points and five rebounds.

Jose Juan Barea notched 20 points and dished seven assists in the Dallas win over Golden State. Gerald Green added 14 points with five rebounds and Brandon Bass added 10 points in the 128-106 victory.

Milwaukee's Ramon Sessions tallied 18 points to go with seven assists in last night's action.

As a starter for Washington, Andray Blatche scored 15 points and seven rebounds in a 95-93 win over Charlotte.

Starting for the Warriors, Kelenna Azubuike scored 11 points and CJ Watson followed with 10.

New Jersey's Bobby Simmons notched 12 points for the Nets in last night's action.

Denver's Chris Andersen contributed nine points and nine rebounds as the Nuggets defeated the Hornets 101-88.
