THEY SAID IT: "Those things are good for the league. You want your players to play. The D-League is good for them. (With the age limit) you'll see players coming into the league more finished." ... Atlanta Hawks general manager Billy Knight told USA Today in regard to the NBA age limit and the D-League helping the quality of play in the NBA.

PLAYOFF SCHEDULE: The 2006 NBA Development League Championship presented by Delta Air Lines begins on Saturday with a pair of semi-final games. Following is the semi-final round schedule:

TITLE GAME: The winners of the two semi-final games will meet the weekend of April 21-22 at the arena of the highest remaining seed. If Fort Worth or Albuquerque host, the game will be on Saturday, April 22. Should Florida host Roanoke, the date and time are TBA.

- 28 players with D-League ties suited up for work in a dozen NBA games.
- Gerald Green (Fayetteville/Florida) scored 22 and converted 10-16 FGA in 26 minutes for the Celtics.
- Chuck Hayes (Albuquerque) collected 10 rebounds in 24 minutes for the Rockets.
- Matt Carroll (Roanoke) scored 14 points in 25 minutes for the Bobcats.
- Pape Sow (Arkansas) scored 8 and had 7 rebounds in 26 minutes for the Raptors.
- Andre Barrett (Florida) came off the Raptors bench to score 8 and have 4 assists in 17 minutes.
- Martell Webster (Fort Worth) had 11 points in 25 minutes for the Trail Blazers.

WAFER RETURNS: The Los Angeles Lakers have reassigned guard Von Wafer to the Fort Worth Flyers. Wafer, who will play in Saturday's semi-final playoff game against Roanoke, was initially assigned to the Flyers on February 27 and played in eight games, averaging 17.9 minutes, 8.0 points and 2.5 rebounds before being recalled on March 22.

CAVS RECALL MARTY: The Cleveland Cavaliers have recalled Martynas Andriuskevicius from the Arkansas RimRockers. In three stints with Arkansas this season he played in 15 games, averaging 18.9 minutes, 7.0 points on .500 shooting (37-74) and 4.2 rebounds.
