RECORD TURNOUT: A D-League record crowd of 7,312 showed up at the Crown Coliseum on Friday to watch the hometown Fayetteville Patriots defeat the Roanoke Dazzle in the 05-06 home finale.
NOTHING SETTLED: Since Albuquerque and Roanoke, both already assured of a playoff berth, lost on Friday, nothing was settled in regards to seeds two through four.
WHAT ABOUT FLORIDA? The Flame is assured a playoff spot with a win over Fayetteville tonight. If Florida loses, then Austin owns the final postseason spot.
WHAT ABOUT SEEDING? Final seeds may not be determined until after Sunday's final regular-season game between Albuquerque and Fort Worth.
FAMILIAR SURROUNDINGS: Both Roanoke coach Kent Davison and Fort Worth coach Sam Vincent will be leading teams for the third time in the D-League postseason. All three trips for Davison have been with the Dazzle. Vincent took the Mobile Revelers to the postseason in 2002 and 2003, winning the D-League championship in 2003.
BYNUM STAYING WEST: The Golden State Warriors signed 2006 D-League Rookie of the year Will Bynum for the remainder of the season on Friday. Bynum signed his first 10-day contract with the Warriors on March 17 and a second on March 27. The former Roanoke point guard has played in eight games with Golden State, averaging 0.9 points and 1.1 assists in 6.5 minutes.
PLAYOFFS ON NBA TV: All three D-League playoff games will be aired on a tape delayed basis on NBA TV. The two semi-final games will be aired on April 20 and April 21, both at 8 p.m. ET. The championship game will air on April 25 at 4 p.m. ET.
THEY SAID IT: "There is something mental about finishing below .500. It would mean a lot to these guys to finish without a losing record. And to think of how we would have done it, winning seven of the last eight games and all against playoff teams, it's just a shame this team peaked one week too late." ... Tulsa assistant coach Roy Rogers said after a 66ers win over Albuquerque on Friday.
