MAY I HELP YOU: Sixteen (16) assists by Tulsa's Will Conroy against Austin on Saturday equaled a D-League single-game high for this season. Arkansas' Kareem Reid has dished out 16 in two separate occasions. The league record is 19 set by Omar Cook on February 8, 2002 against the North Charleston Lowgators.
BORROWING THE SYSTEM: In its March 6 issue Sports Illustrated rates NBA teams as "contenders" by subtracting home losses from road wins. The Detroit Pistons came out on top with a +18 net. Utilizing the same system to rate D-League teams the winner is the Fort Worth Flyers at +6. Following is the rundown of all D-league teams:
Team R Wins H Losses Net
Fort Worth 12 6 +6
Arkansas 12 9 +3
Austin 10 8 +2
Florida 8 7 +1
Roanoke 8 8 0
Albuquerque 8 9 -1
Tulsa 5 9 -4
Fayetteville 1 8 -7
THE HARD WAY: Should Florida stay in the postseason picture and Tulsa creep into it, they will both have to do so the hard way. Both the Flame and the 66ers finish the season playing mainly off the bus. Florida plays nine of its final 14 games away and Tulsa is on the road for nine of its final 13.
