National Arena League Aims for Mid-June Start Date

April 20, 2020 - National Arena League (NAL) News Release

The National Arena League is aiming to kickoff the 2020 season on June 13th if possible. As most states are starting to slowly reopen following President Trump's Opening up America plan. The schedule for the season is being created to accommodate the teams, owners and the arenas as long as we continue to see improvements surrounding the virus.

The NAL is eager to start the season and appreciates all the cooperation and patience of the teams, owners, arenas, players, and especially the fans. "We have been monitoring the events surrounding the Coronavirus, and we are anticipating a return to action the weekend of June 13th," said NAL Commissioner Chris Siegfried.

Siegfried went on to discuss the other indoor/arena leagues and said, "this has been a tough situation for every arena/indoor league around the country, and we hope all of the fans across the nation understand that every team and league has been affected in many ways during this pandemic. With that said, we have no plans to allow teams from other leagues to play exhibition games vs NAL teams. Increasing travel costs to play these teams for one season just doesn't make much business sense at this time."

It is going to be a very exciting and competitive NAL season, and we are looking forward to playing in front of our great fans.
