Dallas Wings News Release
Arlington, TX - Dallas Wings veteran forward Natasha Howard will miss 3-6 weeks after suffering a broken foot in Wednesday night's season-opening win over the Chicago Sky. Howard finished with 15 points and a game-high 13 rebounds in the victory.
Howard's injury puts the Wings at eight healthy players, allowing Dallas to sign free agent Monique Billings to a salary cap hardship contract. Billings hardship contract must be terminated when the Wings have 10 other players able to play.
Billings spent the past six seasons with the Atlanta Dream, which selected the 6-4 forward 15 th overall in the 2018 WNBA Draft. The UCLA graduate has averaged 5.9 points and 5.8 rebounds during her six seasons in the league. In 2023, she averaged 4.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, playing in 39 games and making nine starts for the Dream.
Billings had signed a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Sparks this past February, but was waived on Monday, making her a free agent.
The Wings announced on Thursday that rookie guard/forward Jaelyn Brown is expected to miss a week following a procedure for a displaced nasal fracture, while WNBA All-Star Satou Sabally remains sidelined following an offseason shoulder procedure.
