Nashville SC Signs Defender Miguel Angel Nazarit Mina

NASHVILLE (Dec. 16, 2019) - Nashville Soccer Club announced today it has signed Colombian youth international Miguel ÃÂngel Nazarit Mina to a Major League Soccer contract, pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and P-1 Visa. The centerback will join Nashville SC from his current club, Once Caldas S.A., in January 2020. Nazarit has been signed using Targeted Allocation Money (TAM).
"Miguel is a talented central defender who has gained outstanding experience playing in the top-flight in Colombia," said Nashville SC GM Mike Jacobs. "His combination of athleticism and 1 v 1 defending makes him someone who has the potential to be a key contributor in our team."
Nazarit, a 22-year old in his third season playing as a central defender, made his professional debut with Once Caldas in Colombia's First Division on Mar. 8, 2017. Nazarit has featured regularly, earning 39 career appearances, 36 as a starter, in all competitions.
A talented, right-footed player, Nazarit competes with the technique and maturity of a veteran, displaying confidence both in and out of possession. Two of his most prominent strengths reside in his ability to challenge opposing players in both size and speed as well as in the quality of his aerial game.
Nazarit's most recent international call-up came in late July when the Colombian U-23 Men's National Team met to prepare for next year's CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament which will take place in Colombia from Jan. 18 through Feb. 9. The international competition organized by CONMEBOL will determine which men's U-23 national teams from the South American region will qualify for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.
