(NASHUA, NH, September 30, 2007) The Nashua Pride are looking for your help to keep the team in Nashua for the 2008 season and beyond. Though the Pride's annual attendance has grown incrementally since local businessman, John Stabile purchased the team in 2006, the franchise requires more support from the community and local businesses in order to bring back the Pride to Holman Stadium for its eleventh season in Nashua.

"During a meeting with Mayor Streeter and a group of local businessmen yesterday, I have informed the mayor that the Pride is no longer economically viable in Nashua," stated Pride owner, John Stabile. "The Pride franchise needs a renewed commitment from the residents of the Nashua area and its business community prior to the league's extended deadline on October 24th. This commitment needs to come in the form of 830 new season ticket holders. Without this level of support, it will not be financially feasible for us to continue operating in Nashua for the 2008 season."

In recent weeks, the public has shown support for the Pride through emails, letters and editorials, but now is the time for the people of Nashua and the surrounding communities to help keep the 2007 Can-Am League Champions in Nashua for years to come.

"Minor league baseball has long been a staple in the city of Nashua. Two years ago, we were in danger of losing the Pride, so I assembled local business leaders to step in and find a way to keep the Pride in Nashua. John Stabile has since done everything in his power to breathe life back into this franchise, but without the support of Nashua's citizens and business community he cannot be expected to bear that burden. The Pride have brought two championships to Nashua and there is no better venue for affordable, family-fun entertainment than Holman Stadium. We are at a crossroads and need the help of the community to invest in the team as much as the team has invested in Nashua," said Mayor Streeter.
