NAPHL Regular Season Concludes this Weekend

Published on January 27, 2011 under North American Hockey League (NAHL) News Release

FRISCO, TEXAS - The North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) season resumes this weekend, with its fifth and final event of the regular season taking place from Jan. 28-30 at the Darien Sportsplex in Darien, Ill.

All Midget Major (18U) programs will compete at the showcase.

"We're excited to head to Darien and we're looking forward to a great finish to our regular season," said NAPHL director Denny Scanlon. "The standings are still extremely tight in the 18U division, so it should be a fun weekend of hockey as teams prepare for the Championship Tournament Series."

After the season's fourth event held earlier this month in Troy, Mich., the San Jose Jr. Sharks and DC Capitals are tied for the lead in the 18U division with 33 points apiece. The Milwaukee Jr. Admirals and Lansing Capitals both have 30 points.

The Championship Tournament Series is scheduled for Feb. 18-21 at the Troy Sports Center in Troy, Mich. The championship games in each division - 18U, 16U and 14U - will be played at the Ice Cube in Ann Arbor, Mich., over the same weekend.

All games at the Darien event will be broadcast live via the Internet through http://nahl.fasthockey.com/login.php.
