Monday, Commissioner Rob Neyer announced that the West Coast League's Moss Adams Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week are Yakima Valley Pippins infielder Chaz Myers (Pacific) and Wenatchee AppleSox right-hander Hunter Salinas (Colorado State University Pueblo).
Myers went 11 for 21 with six doubles in five games for Yakima Valley last week. Nine of his 11 hits have come in his three most recent games. The Pacific sophomore-to-be has helped lead the Pippins to a 10-5 start to the season. This spring he played in 21 games as a Tigers freshman, starting 11 of them.
Salinas picked up the win in Wenatchee's road victory over Cowlitz on Thursday. He allowed only one hit and one walk in six scoreless innings of work against the Black Bears. The sophomore-to-be for CSU Pueblo has posted a 2-1 record with a league-best 0.58 ERA in four outings for the AppleSox so far this season.
