Mustangs Add Receiver/Linebacker Marcus Everett

MILWAUKEE (January 18, 2012) - The Milwaukee Mustangs are excited to announce that they have acquired WR/LB Marcus Everett (6'2, 205, UCLA) in a trade with San Jose for future considerations.

Everett appeared in all 18 games with the Mustangs in 2011. He finished second on the team with 62.5 total tackles and contributed one sack, four interceptions, four fumble recoveries and one forced fumble. In his best game of the season against Iowa on July 15, Everett scored two defensive touchdowns, one on a three-yard fumble return and another on a four-yard interception return. In the game against the Barnstormers, he led the team with 6.5 tackles and caught two passes for 18 yards.

Appearing in 12 games while splitting time at wide receiver and linebacker, Everett played his rookie season with the Milwaukee Iron in 2010. Primarily used as a linebacker, he recorded 29 total tackles, intercepted three passes and brought two back for touchdowns. Everett was named the JLS Ironman, Russell Athletic Offensive Player and Riddell Defensive Player of the Week for Week 6 of 2010.

Prior to his rookie AFL season at Milwaukee, Everett was a UCLA Bruin (2004-2008). In 46 games at UCLA, he recorded 97 receptions for 1,235 yards with seven touchdowns. He was the 25th UCLA receiver to account for 1,000 or more receiving yards.
