Mustache Mania Runs Wild for Lancers

(Rochester, NY) - The Rochester Lancers today announced that the month of January will be deemed "Mustache Mania." In honor of standout forward Andrew Hoxie, the team will also provide free mustaches to their fans at their January 25 home game.
Since January 1, Lancers forward Andrew Hoxie has rippled opponents' nets eight times with goals and tallied an additional four assists in just five games. He scored two of those goals in a fast start against Syracuse last Friday night, then returned the next day to explode for a four goal, four assist performance against the fiery Detroit Waza Flo. The weather forecast is expecting temperatures below freezing this week, but in the case of Hoxie's indoor game, it's heating up!
Hoxie's impressive start to 2015 comes with the help of two things... a healthy set of legs that have garnered their fair share of injuries the past couple of seasons and an even healthier mustache! With 11 goals, seven assists, and nine regular season games still left, the 28 year old from Oklahoma could finish with the best season of his pro indoor soccer career.
"The confidence stems from the "Ëstache," says Hoxie, who is in his third season with the Lancers. "People fear and respect those with mustaches: Hulk Hogan, Teddy Roosevelt, etc."
Hoxie feels better than ever and is getting hot at the perfect time for the Lancers playoff push in the final half of the season. So move over Tom Selleck, there's a new mustache in town and it's running wild all over the Lancers turf at the War Memorial!
The Lancers seek payback this Friday, January 16 in Syracuse at 7:35pm against the Silver Knights. Then, Mustache Mania returns to the War Memorial on Sunday, January 25 at 4pm as the Lancers host the Silver Knights from Syracuse.
