GEORGIA OS TROY BERGERON vs. COLORADO OS DAMIAN HARRELL
Two of the most dangerous offensive weapons in the League meet when 2005 AFL Rookie of the Year OS TROY BERGERON (6-2, 180, Middle Tennessee State) and the National Conference Champion Georgia Force (13-5) match up against 2005 Offensive Player of the Year OS DAMIAN HARRELL (6-3, 200, Florida State) and the American Conference Champion Colorado Crush (12-6) this Sunday at 3 p.m. ET live on NBC from the Thomas & Mack Center.
Bergeron, the AFL's youngest player at 21 years old, set an AFL rookie-record with 1,370 receiving yards and finished the season with 105 receptions and 31 touchdowns. The six-time Offensive Player of the Game earned Offensive Player of the Week honors after leading the Force past the Tampa Bay Storm in the Divisional Round. Through the first two rounds of the playoffs, Bergeron has caught 17 passes for 167 yards and five touchdowns.
Harrell finished the regular season with 122 receptions for 1,486 yards and 41 touchdowns. He ranked No. 4 in the AFL in receptions, receiving yards, and scoring (246) while finishing tied for No. 2 in touchdown receptions. The seven-year veteran out of Florida State has 15 receptions for 192 yards and 3 touchdowns this postseason.
GEORGIA QB MATT NAGY vs. COLORADO QB JOHN DUTTON
Conference Championship Round Player of the Week Georgia QB MATT NAGY will look to lead the Force to their first-ever championship against ArenaBowl XVI MVP Colorado QB JOHN DUTTON.
Nagy was responsible for all eight Georgia touchdowns in the Force's National Conference Championship game victory over Orlando. He completed 26-of-36 attempts for 344 yards and seven touchdowns without an interception to earn Offensive Player of the Week honors for the Conference Championship Round. Nagy also added a 3-yard scoring run on his only attempt to propel the Force to their first ArenaBowl appearance.
Dutton can earn his second championship ring after leading the San Jose SaberCats to victory over the Arizona Rattlers in ArenaBowl XVI. Dutton ranks No. 1 this postseason in passing yards (614), No. 2 in completion percentage (65.3) and is tied for No. 2 in touchdowns (11).
