Muskegon's Final Preseason Matchups Cancelled
October 27, 2020 - United States Hockey League (USHL) - Muskegon Lumberjacks News Release
MUSKEGON, MI- The Muskegon Lumberjacks' final two preseason games, scheduled to be played this weekend against the Chicago Steel, have been cancelled.
Per USHL safety protocols, minimum standards will not be met to play these preseason games. The cancellation comes after players from the Steel tested positive for COVID-19. Out of an abundance of caution, and in keeping with the USHL safety protocols, the teams decided to cancel the games for the safety of all players and personnel.
Muskegon concludes the preseason 1-2-1, and opens the regular season on November 6 on the road against Dubuque. Muskegon's blueline was the story of the preseason, as the Jacks got six goals from their defensemen.
