Murray out for Week 2; Trestman Gives Week 2 Plan

Tampa Bay Vipers quarterback Aaron Murray has been ruled out for Saturday's game versus the Seattle Dragons.
As was the case all week, Murray was a spectator at practice Thursday while he rehabbed on the sideline.
Murray is nursing a lower-foot injury he sustained during the first half of Sunday's New York Guardians matchup.
Toward the end of the half, Murray was being examined by the Vipers medical staff. When FOX sideline reporter Jenny Taft inquired what he was dealing with, Murray responded, "Oh, nothing. Just getting hit for the first time in a while. We'll be good to go for the rest of the game."
"Good to go" was an overstatement. Over the next 30 minutes, Murray would complete only seven passes, throw an interception and lose a fumble.
Week 2 Plan
Practice has looked a little different than it has since December with QB Taylor Cornelius getting the majority of the first-team reps and Quinton Flowers handling the remainder.
While Murray had a successful college career at Georgia, Cornelius was a one-year starter at Oklahoma State. He hasn't had as much playing time as Murray; however, at 6-foot-6, Cornelius has a significant height advantage over the 6-foot-1 former SEC star, which should allow him to see the field better.
Head coach Marc Trestman remained tight-lipped on the QB situation. "We'll make a decision at gametime. Who starts doesn't really matter because they're both going to be in the game," he said
It was Trestman's intention to get Flowers more involved in New York, but the nature of the game dictated otherwise. "We didn't get Quinton in the game early as much as we had planned; we had plans to play him more frequently in the first half," said Trestman. "We're going to continue to mix it up and make him part of our offense."
Whether it's Cornelius or Flowers taking the helm in Seattle, Tampa Bay will be facing a passing defense ranked sixth in the league. The Dragons allowed 227 yards passing from the DC Defenders in Week 1.
The Vipers take on the Dragons on Saturday at 5 p.m. ET at CenturyLink Field.
