This Wednesday, November 27th will be a special moment in Danbury Whalers history. As the organization plays its fourth season of Federal Hockey League action three players have worn the Kelly Green sweater at some point during all four seasons.
The record for most games played in Danbury Whalers history is shared by two players. Forward/Defenseman - Lynn Beedle and #19, "Mr. Everything" - Forward Matt Caranci. The mark is shared at 103 games.
When the puck drops on Wednesday, Matt will be playing in his 104th Danbury Whalers game.
This season, Mr. Everything is off to his best start as a professional. He currently leads the club with in points (9), assists (6), plus/minus (+6), and game winning goals (2). On the league board, Mr. Everything leads the FHL in GWG's, is 5th in assists, 5th in plus/minus, and 6th in total points.
On the Whalers all-time board, Matt is 3rd in assists, 4th in points, and 7th in goals.
Amazing Race 22 Winner In Danbury on Friday
This Friday, November 29th when the Dayton Demonz come to town, the Demonz will be bringing with them a player of national prominence.
While Forward Anthony Battaglia has achieved much personal success in his professional hockey career, he quite possibly will be most remembered for his appearance on the CBS Network Emmy Award Winning show, The Amazing Race 22. Along with his brother, Bates, a veteran of 10 NHL seasons with Hurricanes, Avalanche, Capitals, & Maple Leafs, the Battaglia brothers went on to win the competition taking home the $1,000,000 prize.
In the season he appeared and won, the show was seen by over 10,000,000 viewers.
Whalers Home This Week
HVCASA & The Cookhouse
The 1st place defending Federal Hockey League Champion Danbury Whalers are home this week for three games.
On Wednesday, November 27th Danbury takes on the Watertown Privateers. Friday, November 29th, the Whalers face the Dayton Demonz in a rematch of last season's Federal Hockey League Finals. Saturday, November 30th, it's the Whalers and the Danville Dashers. This night will be the first installment of The Cookhouse Rib Eating Challenge.
Friday night is a fundraiser for the Hartford Whalers Booster - Green Team - Benefit for Resiliency Center of Netown.
Saturday is a fundraising event for Christie & Company. Their efforts will be focused on fighting Pancreatic Cancer
Come join Christie and Company and the Danbury Whalers help raise money for the Lustgarten Foundation. Together we can help fight Pancreatic cancer!

About 45,220 people will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
About 38,460 people will die of pancreatic cancer.
Pancreatic cancer is one of the DEADLIEST CANCERS.
Pancreatic cancer is the only major cancer with a five-year survival rate in the single digits.
Little is known about risk factors and there are NO EARLY DETECTION METHODS.
Today, only a few risk factors for pancreatic cancer are known. More research is needed to understand their direct relationship to the disease. Further complicating matters, there are no effective early detection methods available, and most symptoms are vague and could be attributed to many different conditions.
A cure must be found!
