More New Swashbucklers Signed

LAKE CHARLES LA. - Louisiana Swashbucklers head coach Darnell Lee has brought aboard two new players as preparation continues for 2011. The first is Lamond Williams. At 6'4" and 265 lbs., he will be an intimidating presence on the defensive line. Williams has experience as a defensive end and played college ball at Miles College. He won All-Star honors with the Alabama Warriors of the PSFL. In one year he had 43 solo tackles, five forced fumbles and eight sacks.

"Defense has been a trademark of Swashbucklers football," Lee said. "We want to make our opponents earn their points. We will be looking forward to Lamond having an immediate impact on our defensive line."

The second is Sherman Black. At 6'1" and 210 lbs. he is a cornerback and safety with talent and speed. Black was a four year starter at Concordia University. He averaged six interceptions per season and is credited with 110 tackles and 27 interceptions. "We're looking for Sherman to bring consistency to our secondary," Lee said. "Our secondary will be young but talented for next season."

Tryouts for new Swashbucklers players will be held sometime in December. Dates will be announced at a later time.

The Louisiana Swashbucklers will be facing new teams in the Smuggler's Den as the Southern Indoor Football League expands for next year. Make sure you get your season tickets now for an exciting season of indoor football in 2011.
