Game 1 of the QMJHL President Cup Playoffs series between the Sea Dogs and Mooseheads started off at a high pace.

Auger made a great glove stop on MacKinnon in the first five minutes on a rebound from Stefan Fournier. His play continued, making 16 saves before the game was 10 minutes old.

MacKinnon snuck one past Auger just as Saab came out of the box at 9:27, and with Villemaire still in the box, it counted as a power play goal.

The Cole Harbour phenom struck again at 12:11 with a backhand as he cut in to the Sea Dogs zone on a feed from Drouin.

At 12:48, just 37 seconds after the Mooseheads made it 2-0, Cameron and Jakub Izacky combined for a great goal, Cameron's first of the playoffs, at a clutch moment to make it 2-1 and keep the Sea Dogs in the game.

Ian Saab took a five-minute major just 50 seconds into the second period. The Mooseheads used the power play to their full advantage, scoring twice with the extra man. The first added insult to injury as the former Sea Dogs MacAulay made it 3-1 at 1:35.

Frk then scored at 2:18 to extend the lead. He scored again at 7:43 for his second of the night. The Czech native completed the natural hat trick at 10:08.

Andrews tallied at 11:10 to signal a change between the pipes as Fournier came in to replace Auger.

Stefan Fournier then beat Alex Fournier at the 14-minute mark with a power play goal. Halifax continued the second period onslaught as Frk piled on to the lead with his fourth of the game to make it 9-1 at 16:35. The goal was his Halifax-Mooseheads-record seventh point of the night.

Beachemin scored right off the draw to make it 10-1 at 18:01.

Shots in the second matched the first, with another 24-4 shot advantage for Halifax, making the game total 48-8.

Frk added his fifth of the game to make it 11-1 Mooseheads at 8:12 of the third, setting another Halifax franchise record. Drouin's assist on the play was his sixth of the night giving him his own Halifax records.
