NAHL Monsters @ Dawson Creek RageEnCana Events Centre - Dawson Creek, British Columbia, Canada
Friday, 9/30/2011 - Monsters 3, Rage 1: The Fresno Monsters defeated the Dawson Creek Rage Friday in British Columbia by a score of 3-1. Riley Borer had two goals, and Filip Winkler scored one goal. Goaltender Mac Haight stopped 30 of 31 shots by Dawson Creek.Saturday, 10/1/2011 - Monsters 3, Rage 2:The Fresno Monsters defeated the Dawson Creek Rage on Saturday for the second-straight game, this time by a final score of 3-2. RIley Borer, Mik Bushinski, and Brendan Bradley each contributed a goal.
Goaltender Tomas Sholl was solid, stopping 35 of 37 shots on net by the Rage. Fresno completed to two-game series sweep to improve to a season record of 6-0.
NAHL PLAYER SPOTLIGHT
RILEY BORER: Borer had a great series against the Dawson Creek Rage. On Friday he notched 2 goals, including the game-winning goal to give the Monsters a 3-1 victory. Borer finished the night with a +2 rating. Saturday he got on the board in scoring again with 1 goal and 1 assist for another 2-point night to help lead the Monsters to a 3-2 win over the Rage to sweep the series.
MIK BUSHINSKI: Bushinski was a huge factor in the Monsters two-game sweep of the Dawson Creek Rage this weekend. On Friday he earned two assists, including an assist on the game-winning goal for Fresno in the 3-1 win. On Saturday it was Bushinski who scored the game-winning goal himself to break the 2-2 tie and gave the Monsters the 3-2 lead and eventually the win.
MAC HAIGHT: Haight was solid in net for the Monsters on Friday. He stopped 30 of 31 shots on net from the Dawson Creek Rage and finished the night with a 3-1 win and an impressive .968 save percentage on the evening. Haight is 3-0 on the season for the Monsters between the pipes.

WSHL Monsters @ San Diego Gulls; Iceoplex - Escondido, CA
Friday, 9/30/2011 - Monsters 5, Gulls 2: The Fresno Monsters opened the '11-'12 season with a 5-2 win over the San Diego Gulls. Nick McKee lead the charge in scoring with 2 goals on the evening. Goaltender Marcus Harbison stopped 26 of 28 shots by the Gulls. Saturday, 10/1/2011 - Monsters 3, Gulls 1: The Fresno Monsters defeated the San Diego Gulls for the second night in a three-game series to open the season, this time by a final score of 3-1 with goals from Nick McKee, Kyle Baker, and Kyle Godfrey. Goaltender Tom McGuckin was impressive in net, holding the Gulls to just one goal on 36 shots.
Sunday, 10/2/2011 - Monsters 4, Gulls 2: The Fresno Monsters completed the three-game sweep of the San Diego Gulls on Sunday, winning by a final margin of 4-2. Cameron Coburn had 2 goals, while Gunnar Dircks and Josiah Nikkel each contributed a goal of their own. Fresno netminder Marcus Harbison stopped 26 of 28 shots on net by the goals. The WSHL Monsters improved to 3-0 on the young season.
WSHL PLAYER SPOTLIGHT
MARC HAAF: Haaf played well last weekend against the San Diego Gulls. He notches a total of 5 assists in 3 games: 2 assists Friday in a 5-2 win, 1 assist Saturday in a 3-1 win, and 2 assists Sunday in a 4-2 victory to complete the three-game sweep of the Gulls.
NICK McKEE: McKee had a solid performance in Escondido last weekend against the Gulls. Friday he earned 2 goals, 1 goal on Saturday night, and 1 assist on Sunday to help the WSHL Monsters kick off to a perfect 3-0 season start.
TOM McGUCKIN: McGuckin was nearly perfect in his debut between the pipes for the Fresno Monsters. On Saturday night he stopped 35 of 36 shots from the San Diego Gulls, giving him a .972 save percentage.
