Fresno Monsters News Release
Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Monsters wrapped up the team's week-long Main Camp tryout camp last weekend. With nearly 200 players from 12 states and 5 countries trying to earn a spot with the Monsters' North American Hockey League team, players and Monsters' staff endured a grueling schedule of games beginning at 6:30am and concluding at 11:45pm with only breaks to resurface the ice.
On Saturday, August 7th at Selland Arena, the Fresno Monsters held their first-ever Main Camp All-Star Game. The game was free to the public, and 3,752 fans flooded the building for their first glance at the top 40 players striving to earn a roster spot on the Monsters 2010-2011 North American Hockey League team. The All-Star Game was highly competitive with talented players.
"To have that kind of support for an All-Star Game is very exciting for our staff to see what our first season in the North American Hockey League will bring," explains G.M./Head Coach Eric Ballard. "Our fans are the best in the league, and we can only expect more excitement with our first home game in October."
The Fresno Monsters' home opener is on Friday, October 22nd at 7:35pm against the Wenatchee Wild. Season tickets are on sale now at the Fresno Monsters office.
