Monday Night Football Comes to Lake Charles

Louisiana Swashbucklers News Release

LAKE CHARLES - The Louisiana Swashbucklers have scheduled one Monday night game this season in attempts to attract all the families who are involved with baseball and softball tournament games on the weekends. Since Southwest Louisiana is known for its beautiful baseball and softball fields, many tournaments are played right here at home which generates tremendous revenue for our community.

The Louisiana Swashbucklers (12 and 0) have enjoyed a bye week and are now well rested for Monday's game against the Centex Barracudas (2 and 10). When asked if Monday's game would be a breeze, Head Coach Darnell Lee replied, "There's no such thing as a sure win, let alone a breeze. Teams with tremendous talent lose games because they lose focus. Every play of every game is important to our team. We don't rest on our past successes. We always prepare to meet the next opponent."

Monday is the final home game of the 2007 regular season. The Swashbucklers have one additional bye week before traveling to Odessa who most likely will travel to Louisiana the following week in the semi-finals of the IFL playoffs.
