December 17, 2013 - Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL)
Amsterdam Mohawks News Release
The 2012 and 2013 PGCBL champion Amsterdam Mohawks have announced the signing of two pitchers for the 2014 season. Taylor Blatch and Andy Ward, both freshman pitchers at Florida State University have agreed to travel north for the summer and join the Mohawks.
They follow on the heels of two Seminoles who played for the Mohawks last summer. PGCBL Player of the Year John Nogowski (1B) and John Sansone (2B) both were major contributors to the 2013 Mohawks championship team. Both were also everyday starters for Florida State last spring.
Blatch, a Stuart, FL native, was a 27th round selection by the Minnesota Twins in the MLB draft last June. Ward, an Oviedo, FL native, missed his senior high school season after having surgery.
