CHICAGO FIRE vs. KANSAS CITY WIZARDS - CSN-Chicago

Complete Game Notes: http://www.mlsnet.com/MLS/news/mls_news.jsp?ymd=20060703&content_id=64569&vkey=news_mls&fext=.jsp
It's the third consecutive game at home for the Chicago Fire, who are unbeaten in their new home after starting off the current nine-game homestand with a pair of victories. They play host to the Kansas City Wizards, who are in a bit of a drought, mired in a three-game losing streak and having been shut out in two games in a row. But Chicago hasn't been a good place for the Wizards to visit: whether Soldier Field or Cardinal Stadium, K.C. has won just once in 11 games in the Windy City, that coming in their last visit last season.

INJURY REPORT:
CHICAGO FIRE - OUT: DF Jim Curtin (R foot fracture), FW Chris Rolfe (concussion); MF John Thorrington (R knee sprain); QUESTIONABLE: DF Tony Sanneh (R hamstring strain)

LEAGUE HEAD-TO-HEAD
ALL-TIME (25 meetings): Fire 15 wins (1 shootout), 56 goals ... Wizards 7 wins (0 shootout), 34 goals ... 3 draws
AT CHICAGO: (11 meetings): Fire 9 wins (0 shootout), 28 goals ...Wizards 1 win (0 shootout), 10 goals ... 1 draw
-- This is the third of four meetings between the Eastern Conference rivals this year, and the first of two at Toyota Park. The season series will conclude in Bridgeview on Aug. 16.
-- A year ago, the Wizards won two of the four league encounters, with the Fire claiming one and the fourth ending in a draw. It was the first time ever Kansas City had won the season series between the clubs; in 2000 and 2002, the teams evenly split their matches.
-- The Wizards' victory at Soldier Field last Aug. 10 was their first-ever in Chicago, coming just a few months after they had gotten their first-ever result in the Second City. Kansas City lost their first nine games in Chicago against the Fire.
-- The teams have also met in two cup finals, but the Wizards have had the upper hand, winning the honors on both occasions: MLS Cup 2000 and the 2004 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Final, both by 1-0 scorelines.
