MLL to play at Anheuser-Busch Center June 14th

Boston, Mass. (May 19, 2008) - Major League Lacrosse (MLL), the premiere professional outdoor lacrosse league, has announced the remaining neutral-site venue for the Philadelphia Barrage this season. According to MLL Commissioner David Gross, the defending MLL Champion Philadelphia Barrage and the Chicago Machine will play at the Anheuser-Busch Center in St. Louis, Missouri on Saturday, June 14 at 5 PM.
"The League is pleased to announce St. Louis as the final city, and we wish to thank John Anderson and Tom Diven of the Anheuser-Busch Center for helping us secure such a fine venue," said Commissioner Gross. "We receive a great deal of communication from people in the region telling us how much the sport has grown there in recent years and it's very encouraging."
"The Anheuser-Busch Center is proud to be a part of this professional lacrosse match and we want to welcome the MLL to St. Louis," said Diven, General Manager of the Anheuser-Busch Center. "Lacrosse is one of the fastest growing youth sports in the St. Louis area and we are excited to help expand the game's popularity in our region by hosting this event."
As has been previously announced, the Philadelphia Barrage are playing the 2008 regular season as a travel team and will play in five non-MLL cities over the course of the summer. Philadelphia will open their season versus the Washington Bayhawks at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex in Virginia Beach on Sunday, May 18. From there, the team travels to Dallas, Texas to face the Long Island Lizards at Texas Stadium on May 25. The Barrage will also play a June 21 game versus the Rochester Rattlers at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina. Finally, the Barrage and the New Jersey Pride will conclude their regular season schedules at Hillsboro Stadium in Hillsboro, Oregon, on August 9.
"This is a great day for the lacrosse community in St. Louis," added Christopher Brescia, President of the St. Louis-Missouri Chapter of US Lacrosse. "Lacrosse is really catching on here and this will be a great opportunity for players, fans, and for those new to the sports as well to witness the game being played at its highest level."
