MLL Major League Lacrosse

MLL & Tribe7 Team up to Support MLL Communities on Giving Tuesday

December 1, 2020 - Major League Lacrosse (MLL) News Release

Boston - Today Major League Lacrosse is proud to announce a generous gift, donated in partnership with lacrosse manufacturer, Tribe7 North America, to six nonprofits in each of MLL's six communities and to MLL's proud partner from Native American Heritage Month, Turtle Island.

"MLL is thrilled to partner with Tribe7 to celebrate Giving Tuesday," said Commissioner, Alexander Brown. "Our teams and the league take our role as leaders in the community seriously, and with Tribe7 we are helping those who need help the most. For our partnered nonprofits, we are eliminating one of the heaviest barriers of entry to our sport, the cost of equipment. We are grateful to Tribe7, as they live their mission of making lacrosse more accessible to all athletes."

MLL and Tribe7 will be donating lacrosse sticks to seven nonprofits. In addition to the donation to Turtle Island, each team has identified a local nonprofit to receive a donation. The Chesapeake Bayhawks and Tribe7 will be donating sticks to Living Classrooms' free Baltimore City Lacrosse Clinics. The Philadelphia Barrage and Tribe7 will be donating to the team's inner-city partner, Warhorse Lacrosse. The Denver Outlaws and Tribe7 will be donating to long-time Outlaws' partner, Denver City Lax. The Connecticut Hammerheads and Tribe7 will be donating to Good Sports. The Boston Cannons and Tribe7 will be donating to longtime Cannons' partner, Harlem Lacrosse. And the New York Lizards and Tribe7 will be donating to City Lax.

"We partnered with MLL for Giving Tuesday because we knew the reach and weight that comes with a Major League Lacrosse partnership," said Pete Avery, President of Tribe7. "Tribe7 is repositioning the brand to be the sport's leader in high performance gear at a fair value to the player and their families. This partnership allows us to deliver on our mission of making lacrosse more accessible to more players."

Tribe7 began producing lacrosse equipment in New York more than ten years ago. Their mission has always been to offer a premium product at an accessible price. Recently the brand has switched coasts and has relocated to San Diego, California to be inclusive of all of North America. Despite the move, Tribe7 remains true to its original mission of always putting the player first.
