GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Sanaldo, California Cougars, GK

Sanaldo had perhaps his most dominating game yet in a Cougars uniform. The Brazilian keeper saved 20 of 24 shots he faced in a game which saw the opposing Chicago Storm offense outshoot the Cougars 34 to 31. Sanaldo had 10 saves in the fourth quarter alone. His save percentage climbed to .675 after saving .833 of shots faced in the 9-8 Friday night win. Sanaldo improved to 7-10 with the win and his points allowed average dropped to 13.20 compared to 13.55 at the beginning of the match.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Marcelo Fontana, Milwaukee Wave, MF

Fontana is a midfielder by trade, but he did it all for the Wave on Friday as they halted Baltimore's six-game win streak, 16-12. Fontana was credited with a game-high five blocks and scored two goals, including the game-winner. The veteran from Argentina is now tied for fourth on the team in scoring (27 points) and tied for first in blocks (20).

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Machel Millwood, Baltimore Blast, F

Millwood led the Blast with back-to-back five-point games this weekend as the team advanced to 13-8 on the season. Millwood recorded two goals and one assist Friday night in the 16-12 loss to Milwaukee and had two goals and one assist again on Saturday to lead the Blast to a 10-6 win over the New Jersey Ironmen. Millwood leads the Blast with 58 points and ranks third in points in the MISL. He also ranks second in the League with 20 assists and fifth in the League with 19 two-point goals.
